A Just Security article on the South Africa v Israel Genocide Convention Case features ELAC Co-Director Janina Dill’s expert comment on the International Court of Justice ruling on Israel Gaza operations. In the article, Dill notes that the ruling, ‘…is a significant rebuke of a democratic country that sometimes claims to have the most moral army in the world. It is also a rebuke of world leaders who preempted legal deliberations by declaring the case meritless or baseless or who argue that Israel’s compliance with international law can be assumed because it is a democracy.’ Twelve other experts also contribute to the article giving their views on the ruling.
