Federica D’Alessandra Delivers Guest Lecture on Human Rights, Tech and Armed Conflict

Dec 7, 2022

On 7 December, ELAC Deputy Director and IPS Executive Director Federica D’Alessandra gave a guest lecture at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam titled ‘Human Rights, Technology and Armed Conflict in the Twenty-First Century’. Federica’s lecture focused on the ways in which technology is revolutionising the way we think about and approach both human rights and armed conflict. The lecture addressed how new and emerging technologies are changing the landscape of war; the ways in which technology is changing our approach to atrocity prevention and the protection of civilians from mass, identity-based violence; and the ways in which technology is both challenging, but also revolutionizing, the accountability landscape.
