On 6-9 March, ELAC Deputy Director Federica D’Alessandra was invited by Forbes magazine to participate to the first 30/50 Forbes Women’s Summit. On occasion of International Women’s Day, the intergenerational summit brought together leaders across industries drawing from Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and 50 Over 50 lists over the years. (Federica was listed in 2017 in the ‘Law and Policy’ category.) The Summit was chaired by MSNBC anchor Mika Brzezinski who co-hosted a townhall on March 8 with former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who was also presented the first-ever Forbes International Women’s Day Lifetime Achievement Award by her former Chief of Staff Huma Abedin. The Summit also honoured Naheed Farid, Chairperson of Afghanistan’s Women’s Affairs Commission, and Zarifa Ghafari, Afghan economist and human rights activist, with the Forbes Changemaker Award.
