On 2-4 June, ELAC Deputy Director Federica D’Alessandra attended the 2022 GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum. GLOBSEC Bratislava Forum, held every year since 2005, has established itself as the leading platform in the Central Eastern Europe region and one of the top strategic conferences globally. The 2022 forum focused on mobilising support and action for Ukraine and the Broader European Neighbourhood. It explored how the EU can overcome offer more comprehensive support to Ukraine, and what the Transatlantic community can do differently in and with the Western Balkans to increase the region’s democratic resilience, neutralise attempts at malign interference and consolidate the region as part of a ‘democratic Europe United and Free’. Speakers included President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović; Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, Prime Minister of North Macedonia Dimitar Kovachevski, President of European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák and UK Special Envoy Sir Stuart Peach, among others.
