Federica D’Alessandra Speaks on Human Security and 2022 NATO Strategic Concept

Apr 22, 2022

On 22 April, ELAC Deputy Director Federica D’Alessandra was invited by NATO at its Brussels headquarters to participate in an expert discussion on ‘Human Security and the 2022 NATO Strategic Concept: Knowledge, Insights, and Lessons Learned’, organised by RAND Europe’s Centre for Human Security, in collaboration with the NATO Policy Planning Unit and the NATO Human Security Unit. In advance of the adoption of its new Strategic Concept on 29-30 June at the Summit in Madrid, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg undertook a consultation phase to explore and inform key issue areas within the new Strategic Concept. The intent of the seminar was to gather expert insights concerning NATO’s approach to Human Security and explore how the future security environment will impact its conceptualisation and applications out to 2030 and beyond.
