On 8 June, ELAC Deputy Director Federica D’Alessandra participated to a private roundtable convened by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum to discuss potential atrocity crimes related to deliberate starvation in Tigray, Ethiopia. The discussion covered a variety of topics, including deliberate starvation under international law, blame shifting by the Ethiopian government with regard to the deliberate blocking of aid, the implementation of the 24 March humanitarian truce and pathways to accountability.
