New Article: ‘Al-Kurdi Capture Raises Thorny Detention Issues’

On 17 June, IPS Visiting Fellow of practice Brianna Rosen published another article, ‘Al-Kurdi Capture Raises Thorny Detention Issues’, co-authored with Tess Bridgeman and Luke Hartig, in Just Security. The authors argue that while the capture of Hani Ahmed Al-Kurdi, a senior ISIS leader, in Aleppo, is welcome news, his capture raises thorny questions about how high-level terrorists are detained, which are particularly important to answer as the United States enters a new, lower intensity, yet seemingly persistent fight against terrorist groups.
