On 18 October, ELAC hosted Professor Harold Hongju Koh’s lecture on the ‘Biden Administration’s Re-Engagement with International Law’ at the Blavatnik School of Government. The talk was chaired by ELAC Deputy Director and IPS Executive Director Federica D’Alessandra, and looked at how the Biden administration will attempt to restore the place of international law in US governance following the Trump presidency’s consequential and arguably negative impact on the matter.
Harold is currently the George Eastman Visiting Professor in Law at Balliol College, University of Oxford, for the 2021-22 academic year. Most recently, he was the most senior political appointee of the Biden Administration in the Office of Legal Adviser at the US State Department.
