On 27 July, ELAC Co-Director Dapo Akande briefed lawyers across international organisations, missions and academia on the work of the International Law Commission (ILC), a UN body of legal experts responsible for helping develop and codify international law, to which he was elected in 2021. The briefing was a part of the International Law Series hosted by the UK Mission to WTO, UN and Other International Organisations (Geneva). Speakers included Charles Jalloh, Professor of International Law at Florida International University; Phoebe Okowa, Professor of Public International Law at Queen Mary University of London; and August Reinisch, Professor of Public International Law at the University of Vienna.
