On 15-18 November, an IPS delegation led by Federica D’Alessandra attended the convening of GAAMAC IV (Global Action Against Mass Atrocity), a state-led initiative aimed to prevent atrocities (genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity). At the convening, which focused on hate speech and saw the participation of many UN and governmental experts, Federica chaired a workshop discussion on ‘Hate Speech, Religious and Ethnic Minorities in Europe’, which also saw the participation of Dr Kate Ferguson (Protection Approaches) and Dr Margareta Matache (Harvard University).
