IPS Speaks on Justice in Syria

Mar 8, 2021

IPS Senior Fellow of Practice Ambassador Stephen Rapp and Visiting Fellow of Practice Sareta Ashraph sat on an expert panel hosted by the Atlantic Council and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum discussing accountability for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Syria. The discussion was structured around the following questions: Where do cases filed in European courts by perpetrators stand today and what are the prospects for holding criminals accountable? What role, if any, can US and European policy makers play in supporting the quest to seek justice for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Syria? A video of the panel is available here
