New IPS Blog Post on Hybrid Models of International Criminal Justice

Mar 15, 2021

On 15 March, IPS Senior Fellow of Practice Ambassador Stephen Rapp published an essay in Opinio Juris discussing the potential of hybrid models of international criminal justice that engage both national and international actors. Ambassador Rapp brings his experiences at the Special Court for Sierra Leone (SCSL) into conversation with new scholarship from Charles Jalloh on the SCSL’s legal legacy, considering how lessons learned might illuminate current and future fights for accountability. The essay was written upon request of the Florida International University College of Law Review ahead of its micro-symposium on The Legal Legacy of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, by Charles C. Jalloh (Cambridge, 2020). An edited version is forthcoming in Volume 15.1 of the FIU law review.
