IPS Senior Fellow of Practice Stephen Rapp sat on a panel with experts in human rights, international law, and digital investigations to discuss the Berkeley Protocol on Digital Open Source Investigations. Convened by Foley Hoag LLP, the panellists engaged various tensions and challenges arising from the use of digital evidence in evolving legal and policy landscapes. Ambassador Rapp was joined by Ambassador Christian Wenaweser, Permanent Representative of Liechtenstein to the United Nations, Dr. Alexa Koenig, Executive Director of the Human Rights Center and Lecturer, UC Berkeley School of Law, Dr. Beth van Schaack, Leah Kaplan, Visiting Professor in Human Rights and Faculty Fellow with the Handa Center for Human Rights and International Justice, Stanford Law School, Francesca Marotta, Chief of Methodology, Education and Training Section (OHCHR), Mazen Darwish, President of the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression (CMFE), and Christina Hioureas, Partner & Chair of United Nations Practice at Foley Hoag.
